READING THE MAP
An archive of observations.
This page uses the historical NASA Meteorite Landings catalog, based on records from The Meteoritical Society. It includes valid entries marked “Fell” with a year and usable coordinates. “Fell” means an associated fall was observed; “Found” records are excluded.
The 1,096 points cover 860–2013. They reflect documented and geocoded events, not the true distribution of meteorites reaching Earth. A cluster number counts nearby records at the current zoom, and marker positions may be approximate.
